Provide disaster relief assistance to home builders in areas declared disasters by the Federal Government or the State of Louisiana to allow them to stay in business and begin to rebuild these areas.
Assist communities and citizens located in these Disaster Areas in rebuilding efforts.
Educate citizens about proper recovery and rebuilding procedures and the prevention of contractor fraud.
The Disaster Relief Fund was created to provide assistance to home builders in the areas to allow them to stay in business and begin to rebuild Louisiana. The Trustees consist of members of each affiliated local association of the Louisiana Home Builders Association.
The Disaster Relief Fund has assisted LHBA Members, local HBAs, other state Home Builders Disaster Funds and communities. After Hurricane Ida, members of the Louisiana Home Builders Disaster Relief Fund provided meals and supplies in Laplace and in Cut Off.
In 2020 and 2021, assistance was given to members after the storms to help them get back to work. Home Builders Association members are important in the rebuilding efforts of our communities.
